Sunshine and girl-talk

Hot Donna and I had some “Hot D Time” today, doing our favorite activity… LAYING OUT.  Laying out is kind of the non-activity, actually. It’s a way to say that you’re doing something, when in reality you just lay by a pool moving as little as possible to avoid bikini lines and chatting incessantly.  So basically it’s girl-talk with a side of sunshine.  WHO CARES.  Laying out=awesome.

I’m off this week, as our horses and trainers and kids are all taking a Spring Break. Oddly enough, I seem to be busier in my off-time than when I’m working. How can this be?  Then again, when I say busy, I really mean that I spent all day doing almost nothing… as we just defined laying out.  So I guess I need to redefine busy as well.

But I do have several creative projects simmering, which is very exciting. The cool thing about working freelance is that you get to make your own schedule, and the bad thing is that because you make your own schedule, then you do dumb things like spend most of a day in pursuit of a tan instead of a paycheck, and consequently you are wracked with guilt and feel a need to stay up all night creating something brilliant to make up for it. Of course I realize that I can’t do that, as we have Small Group tonight and I should probably cook dinner for my fella and my kitchen floor is growing things.  So it’s becoming clear that laying out is causing my life and career to spin out of control.

BUT IT WAS WORTH IT.
