A shout-out

All writers are readers, and I personally love to read something brilliant that a friend has written.  So attention everybody, because I think you need to read this. My friend Brett is a fellow Oxfordian and Wildcat Alumni, loves adventures of all shapes and is a maker of gigantic lunches that he has been known to eat directly out of a frying pan on his way to class.

He’s currently preparing for a cross-country bike ride and is chronicling this in true Brett-fashion.  His “Portrait of an Amateur” made me laugh and touched me as only great adventures can.

And, while we’re on the topic of reading and writing… I need inspiration. My creativity well is coming up dry and I am in sore need of inspiration to prime the pump.

Remember back when I did the Seven Dwarves series? Give me another idea like that, OK? Slumpy no likey.

  1. One time I was riding bikes with Brett and he drove his bike into a creek on purpose, because he thought it would be cool. It totally was.

  2. Hey Dani, thanks for the link to Brett’s blog, totally didn’t know that existed.

How about a series based on the nursery rhyme:
Monday’s child is fair of face.
Tuesday’s child is full of grace.
Wednesday’s child is full of woe.
Thursday’s child has far to go.
Friday’s child is loving and giving.
Saturday’s child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath Day
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.

Seems like that could take you some interesting places. Miss you!
