Tis the season for questions

Ala Jack Bauer. Except I answered these of my own free will. Pathetic, I know.

Are you going away for Christmas?

Oregon! Holla!

What are you expecting for Christmas?

Snow? But I’m turning the expectation into more of a “hope” seeing the recent weather reports. You never know.

Is Christmas your favorite holiday?

I have to be restrained from belting out “Merry Christmas!” the moment we’ve put away the turkey after Thanksgiving dinner. So, yes.

Do you like to decorate the tree?

Yes. As soon as possible after Thanksgiving, with colored lights and Christmas music in the background and lots of giggles.

Where do you put the tree in your house?

In our little married bower, it is next to the gargantuan TV, who, in this magical season, is pretending to be a fireplace. At least I think so.

Do you watch Merry Christmas Charlie Brown every year?

Um, it’s called “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. Pssshaw.

What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

Carols. Hope. Candles. Twinkle lights. Family and friends. Red cups at Starbucks. PRESENTS.

What is the best Christmas you have ever had?

Toughie. Maybe last year? First and only engaged Christmas, with snow and family and all the trimmings?

Are you spending Christmas with family?

Yeppers.

Do you believe in Santa Claus?

I believe in the idea of Santa and the magic of Christmas. How’s that for a politician answer?

Do you always look in your stocking at Christmas?

YES. Adam is a great stocking stuffer. It’s become our new tradition, and will be especially cool with Momma Nichols’ new beauties!

How much money will you be spending on other people this Christmas?

What part of “Christmas Magic” do you not understand? What a magic-wrecking question.

Are you going to a Christmas parade this year?

We tried to, at Disneyland for my birthday, but it rained. So we made Rick ride Splash Mountain with us instead.

What is the best Christmas present you ever got?

This is a hard question and I don’t have a good answer. Pass.

What state are you spending Christmas in?

Oregon. I said this already.

Do you text Merry Christmas to everybody you know?

Do you have ANY IDEA how many people that is? No, crazy. I will not spend Christmas staring at a cell phone, even though Yuletide greetings of all kinds do have a soft spot in my little heart.
