White Coat Anxiety

I didn’t even know that this existed until today, but I’ve known for FOREVER that it’s a problem for me.  I am the world’s worst patient. I hate forms. I hate sterile offices. I am mean to the girl behind the counter who shyly asks me for a co-payment, because DO YOU THINK I WANT TO PAY TO BE HERE?

All of that to say, I went to the doctor today, and it was scary, but not as scary as it could have been and I’m very relieved that they didn’t poke me too much, but I’m pretty sure that they think I’m super out of shape, because my little heart was pat-pat-patting like a bunny who’s just been chased by coyote and just escaped down a hole and is now down there panting and thanking his lucky stars and long legs. Anyways. Moving on.

It has been HOT here. I know, Texans, you’re laughing at us – but here’s the thing. We don’t have great ventilation or air conditioning. So when it’s hot, we just sit here and stare at the sweat on our noses and wish we had a solution. One of our solutions is to go jump in the ocean. So I guess it’s not that rough.

Speaking of totally not rough, this weekend is Labor Day, and we have not made a single plan. It’s going to be blissful.
